PENANG ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITON & ASTROFEST 2001
8th to 11th February KOMTAR
11 countries . 423 astrophotography entries . 60 participating astrophotographers

ALIEN ART COMPETITION is not as easy as it looks. Participants have to first design an alien from scratch, and then give an identity presentation of their extraterrestial creations to the judges. In addition to that, they have to answer some pretty intensive questions posed by the judges to convince them (the judges) of the scientific feasibility of such an alien existing in the physical body in which they have created.

"..it looks fierce but it is actually quite friendly.."

"..its small size allows it to hide in small holes where the really big predators from home planet cannot catch it.."

"..its spines protect it from its enemies, and it can shoot poison darts too.."

"..it is quite a stupid creature and falls into traps very easily, that's why it is becoming extinct.."

"..the heart symbolizes love and peace, it is a very peaceful and loving alien.."

"..this alien has a bottle of very nice-smelling cologne too.."
